The Population Verification test is used to determine the number of viable organisms on or within a Biological indicator, inoculated carrier, or suspension. Populations are determined to ensure conformance to the manufacturer’s population label claim. This test can also be used to determine surviving organisms following a sterilization process to determine lethality rates and D-values.
LexaMed follows testing procedures outlined in USP <55> and ISO 11138. Requirements for testing are a minimum of four (4) biological indicators or inoculated carriers. We can perform testing on all types of biological indicator configurations such as paper BI strips,, stainless steel carriers, inoculated sutures and wires and spore suspensions.
